ABOUT

INTRODUCTION

Global Cancer IP Promotion Alliance plans to establish an efficient and sustainable platform for promoting IP transactions, catering to pharmaceutical R&D entrepreneurs, investors, multinational biopharmaceutical companies, scholars, and professional service institutions. The national "14th Five-Year Plan" also proposes "supporting Hong Kong in building a regional intellectual property trading center." This initiative not only aligns with Hong Kong's long-term need for diversification and enhancing international competitiveness but also marks a significant milestone in Hong Kong's deeper integration into the national development strategy.

VISION & MISSION

  • Vision:

    The Alliance aims at helping Hong Kong to maintain long term prosperity and stability by fulfilling the inherent need of the city for diversification and enhancement of international competitiveness. It also facilitates Hong Kong to better integrate into the national development strategy of Chinese Mainland.

  • Mission:

    Strengthen Hong Kong’s role as the regional intellectual property (IP) trade center and help to establish effective IP trading platforms for reaping the business opportunities arising from the burgeoning global development of IP trade.

  • Strategies:

    The Alliance will initially focus on biomedical IP trade promotion in the light of the imminent and substantial demand from cancer patients worldwide; the scope of promotion will gradually be expanded to cover other lucrative sectors including the cultural and creative industries, for the benefit of the Hong Kong community.

  • Objectives:

    As spelt out in the Articles for the establishment of the Alliance, include:

    1.To promote Hong Kong’s role as the regional IP trading/financing hub;

    2.To promote the trade of IP for the benefit of the Hong Kong community by establishing an effective platform to facilitate deal-making between IP owners and potential investors;

    3.To promote the development of medicine and health for the benefit of the Hong Kong community by establishing an IP trading promotion business model focusing on cancer related technologies, including pharmaceutical and vaccination development, medical therapy and diagnostic technology;

    4.To promote the trade of IP in fields other than those mentioned above, including the cultural and creative sectors, for the benefit of the Hong Kong community.
